JCPenney

From freelance digital copywriter to full-time senior catalog writer, working for JCP gave me retail experience that equipped me for the next stage in my journey.

I was writing for JCP around the time Ron Johnson came on as CEO. I was there after he left too. What that meant was a whole lot of pivoting from a messaging perspective. We were trying a lot of new things, and it was fun. And then when those new things didn’t work as well as some thought, we went back to what made jcp great in the first place. It’s quality and unbeatable value for the American family. I wrote for the web, social, digital media and catalog. It was because I was already writing for brands Like Nike at JCP that I was chosen to be the lead writer for the Nike Women’s Marathon, a role that truly changed my life. So I’m forever grateful for my time at JCP.
